Logo Design Examples: 5 Logos We Made and the Idea Behind Each

Looking at logo examples is the easiest way to find what you want in your own. Below are five logos we made, what each one needed and what it can tell you about yours. You can see all of them in full size in our portfolio.

1. Torpil Studio: an identity with a mascot

For our own identity we designed the logo, the fuse mascot and the colour system together. The mascot is also used on its own: on the site, as an app icon and in profile pictures.

Lesson: if you want your brand to have a character, a mascot adds a warmth the logo cannot; but it should also be recognisable on its own, apart from the logo.

2. A law office: a monogram

For a monogram built from two letters we prepared five directions with column, leafy branch, tree and wave motifs. The chosen green leaf direction was also applied to three business card layouts, front and back.

Lesson: for serious work such as law and consulting, a simple monogram builds trust; seeing different directions side by side makes the choice easier.

3. Alnair: logo and brand identity together

For a Morocco-based investment advisory firm we prepared the logo and the brand identity as one piece; the logo has navy and gold versions.

Lesson: when the logo and identity are designed together, the website, presentations and documents speak the same language from the start.

4. BEDU Games: a game studio

For a game studio we designed a logo that sits on a dark background.

Lesson: for game and tech brands, the logo mostly appears on dark interfaces, app icons and game splash screens; the design should be tested on those backgrounds.

5. MEZON Logistics: a vector redraw

We redrew the logistics company's existing logo as a vector; it can now scale cleanly on signage, on vehicles and in print.

Lesson: you do not always need a new logo; a clean vector redraw of a low-resolution logo solves most problems.

What they share

We deliver logos as a vector file (SVG) and an image with a transparent background (PNG). A logo should also be tested at small sizes, in one colour and on dark backgrounds; on our site's client logo wall we use every logo in a single colour. We covered what to check in a logo in our post "8 Things to Check When You Have a Logo Designed".

Your logo

Logo design starts from $60 with us: drafts in three directions, two revisions on the one you choose, usually delivered in 3-5 days.
