In short

What you write and record stays on this phone. You do not need an account; if you do not create one, Püfür does not send this information to any server, and we at Torpil Studio cannot see it. There are two exceptions, both your choice: if you use Chat with Bulut, the messages you write are sent so that a reply can be produced; if you create an account, your records are backed up to the cloud so they are not lost when you change phones. Both are explained below.

What is stored on the phone

Your name (if you entered one), your onboarding answers (what you want help with, how you have been lately, what weighs on you, your sleep, your satisfaction, your goals and your streak goal), the name and number of your trusted person (if you added one), your journal entries (mood, feelings, what you wrote), your answer to the daily mood question and the affirmation card you opened, anxiety test results, breathing, visualization and panic moment records, lesson progress, your best game scores and an unfinished blocks game, your Chat with Bulut history, your Premium status, the visualizations and sleep recordings you marked with a heart, your journal, breathing and visualization reminders and their times, daily quote, theme, vibration, breathing, read-aloud, visualization, sleep and game settings.

When you call your trusted person, only your phone's dialer opens; the number is not sent anywhere else.

When panic cards, lessons, visualizations and sleep stories are read aloud, your phone's own text-to-speech engine is used; only the app's texts are read, never what you wrote.

When you share an affirmation card, your zen garden or Püfür itself, your phone's share sheet opens; you choose what to send and to whom, and Püfür sends nothing on its own.

The signature you draw on the promise screen is not saved anywhere.

What we do not do

No ads, no analytics or tracking tools. Your information is not sold, not used for advertising and not shared with anyone; chat messages go to the AI service only to produce a reply, and if you have an account, your backup goes to Google Firebase only to be stored.

Chat with Bulut

If you use Chat with Bulut, the message you write (or dictate) and the latest messages of the conversation are sent over the internet to Torpil Studio's server and from there to Groq (USA), which provides the AI service, so that a reply can be produced. Our server only passes the messages on; it does not store them or keep a log of them, and we do not read them. You are asked to agree to this before your first chat.

Groq processes the messages to produce the reply; under its terms it does not use these messages to train models and does not store them by default.

To check that your chat subscription is active, the purchase token issued by Google Play is sent to our server and checked with Google; the token is not stored. For the daily message limit, the server keeps a one-way digest of the token and your internet address in memory for at most one day.

Your chat history is stored only on this phone. You can delete it with Delete chat on the chat screen or with Delete my data in Settings. We recommend not writing your name, phone number, address or other people's details in the chat.

When you report a reply, your phone's email app opens with that reply filled in; sending it is up to you.

Purchases

When you buy Püfür Premium or support Püfür, Google Play takes the payment. Your card and payment details never reach Püfür; the payment is processed under Google's terms. Google Play's purchase component may send technical information to Google so that the purchase works; Google processes it, and we cannot see it.

Püfür asks Google Play on the phone whether your subscription is active; we have no server for this. The phone stores only whether Premium is on and when the gift trial ends.

Account and cloud backup

Creating an account is optional. If you create one, your email address and password are stored with Google Firebase Authentication on Google's servers (including in the USA); your password is kept encrypted and we cannot see it. If you forget your password, your email address goes to Torpil Studio's server and the reset link is sent through our email provider Resend (USA); your address is not used for anything else.

While your account is active, the records on this phone (journal entries, mood answers, anxiety test results, breathing, visualization and panic moment records, lesson progress, onboarding answers, your name, trusted person and settings) are backed up to Google Cloud Firestore. Backups happen at most every 15 minutes when the app goes to the background, and whenever you tap Back up now in Settings. Your chat history and purchase status are not included.

Because these records contain health-related information such as mood and journal entries, backup happens only with the explicit consent you give when creating the account. The backup is stored on Google LLC's servers in Europe under Google's data processing terms; this counts as a transfer of personal data abroad. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Only you can reach your backup with your own account; we at Torpil Studio do not read its content or share it with anyone.

When you sign out, backups stop and the records on this phone stay. You can delete your account and your cloud backup at any time with Delete account in Settings, which also withdraws your consent. To exercise your rights under Turkish data protection law (KVKK), write to contact@torpilstudio.com.

Microphone

If you want to write your journal by voice, microphone permission is asked at that moment. Your speech is turned into text by your phone's speech recognition service (Google on most phones); Püfür asks for this to happen on the phone itself, without the internet, whenever possible. Püfür does not record your voice and does not send it anywhere itself. You can turn the permission off at any time in your phone's settings.

Notifications

If you turn on one of the reminders or the daily quote, the notifications are scheduled on the phone itself; no server is used for this either. You can turn them off at any time in Settings. While a sleep sound or a guided session is playing, a notification shows what is playing so it can continue with the screen off; this too happens only on the phone.

If you write to us

When you tap Write to us or Report a problem in Settings, your phone's email app opens. When you report a problem, Püfür's version, your phone model and Android version are added to the end of the email; you see them before sending and can delete them if you like.

We use the email you send (your address and what you wrote) only to reply to you and solve the problem, and we do not share it with anyone.

Backups

If your phone's backup (Google on Android, iCloud on iPhone) is on, your phone may back up the app's data to your account. That backup stays in your phone's account; neither Püfür nor we have access to it. If you do not want this, you can turn off backups in your phone's settings.

Deleting your data

You can delete all your records at any time with Delete my data in Settings. Uninstalling the app also deletes the records on the phone.

Delete my data does not affect your Premium or chat subscription: subscriptions are tied to your Google Play account and are cancelled in Google Play.

If you have an account, Delete my data also signs you out; to delete your cloud backup, use Delete account.
