It fingerprints a file, checks its digital signature, compares it against known threat databases and gives a plain-language risk summary. It never uploads the file anywhere.
- Works without uploading the file; only the fingerprint is queried
- 674 unit tests, all passing
- Single-page interface with a Windows 11 look
- Scan straight from the Explorer right-click menu
Case study
A tool that tells you whether to trust a file, without uploading it anywhere
The result
- unit tests, all passing
- 674
- Turkish and English interface
- 2 languages
The problem
Finding out whether a file has been corrupted or tampered with means computing a fingerprint, checking the digital signature and querying threat databases one by one. Uploading the file to a scanning site also hands its contents to a third party.
What we did
- We combined the fingerprint, the digital signature and the threat database lookup into one trust check, with the result in plain language.
- Only the fingerprint is queried; the file itself is never uploaded.
- It follows a deny-when-in-doubt rule: an unsigned record or one using a weak algorithm is never treated as trusted.
- We added one-click scanning from the Explorer right-click menu; because it changes the system, it is off by default and turned on in Settings.
