About
Nightwatch turns your desktop into a night scene that looks like a painting: a castle on the rocks, a torch-lit road into the fog and a moon with its real phase. Now and then something happens in the sky: a shooting star, a plane, a dragon far away, lightning behind the clouds.
Quiet panels on top of the scene show your Claude Code session and weekly limits with their reset times. You see which chats are working, which ones wait for you and which ones just finished, without opening a terminal.
Installing is one double click: it sets up Python if it is missing, adds a small helper that starts with Windows and opens the wallpaper in Wallpaper Engine. The helper is plain Python you can read. It only talks to Anthropic to ask for your own usage, with your own Claude Code sign-in, and sends nothing anywhere else.
What is included
- Claude Code usage: session and weekly limits, reset times, a colour warning near the limit
- Chat list: working, needs you, done, with how long ago
- A short log of what your chats did lately
- Notes from a text or Markdown file you pick, for example an Obsidian note
- System panel: CPU, GPU and memory load
- Now playing: cover, title and bars that move with the music
- Optional: a graph of your Obsidian vault and a site monitor
- English and Turkish; every panel can be turned off in Wallpaper Engine's settings
What's inside
Sky
- The moon rises with its real phase; on nights near full moon its light brightens the fog
- Light beams fall from the moon through the fog
- Thin clouds and now and then fog drift in front of the moon
- Now and then a shooting star
- A night plane crosses with real lights: navigation lights, a blinking red beacon, wing tip strobes
- Distant lightning lights up the fog for a moment
- A dragon glides past the moon far away
Scene
- The torches on the road and the brazier burn live and light up the fog
- Low fog flows over the road, ash drifts in the air
- Life in the castle: a flickering window, a guard torch walking the wall, crows around the tower
With your mouse
- Your mouse leaves a soft light in the fog
- A bat follows your mouse through the fog
Claude
- Session and weekly limits: usage bar, reset time, colour changes near the limit
- Chat list: working, needs you, done, with how long ago
- A star falls when a chat finishes its work
- The brazier glows while a finished chat is still unread
- A dragon lives on the corner of the Claude window: awake while Claude works, breathes fire when it is done
- A light runs around the frame while Claude works, and a scan line passes now and then
Other panels
- Activity log: when chats start, ask a question and finish, flowing in as it happens
- Notes: a text or Markdown file you pick, done items struck through
- System: CPU, GPU and memory load, bars glide to new values
- Now playing: cover, title, progress and bars that move with the music
- Optional: a live graph of your Obsidian vault (hover a node to light up its links)
- Optional: your own title at the top; it turns red when a site you watch goes down
Settings
- Every panel and effect can be turned on and off in Wallpaper Engine's settings
- English and Turkish
- Everything runs on your PC; it only goes online to ask for your Claude usage

Privacy
- Everything stays on your PC
